The Los Angeles Rams are on a the verge of trading star running back Todd Gurley, per ProFootballTalk.

The current destination for the 25-year-old three-time Pro Bowl rusher is currently unknown, but this isn't the first mention of Gurley on the move out of Los Angeles. The former 10th-overall pick from the 2015 NFL Draft out of Georgia was mentioned as being shopped by the Rams earlier this week as L.A. transitions to a pass-first offense led by franchise quarterback Jared Goff.

Gurley signed a contract extension with the NFC West franchise a couple years back and he's on the books through the 2023 season, making teams targeting the star rusher compelled by the long-term move dealing for the league's two-time rushing touchdown leader offers.

Gurley had a down year in the Rams' 2019 campaign as Goff's star continued to rise. The former Offensive Player of the Year recorded 857 rushing yards on 223 carries, averaging just 3.8 yards per carry, scoring 12 touchdowns in 15 games for L.A. Prior to last season, Gurley tallied back-to-back campaigns for the Rams rushing for over 1,200 yards, scoring 30 touchdowns on the ground in 29 regular-season games.

Gurley and the Rams went to Super Bowl LIII, representing the NFC, losing to Tom Brady and the New England Patriots, managing to only score three points as the dynasty team from Foxborough received their sixth title.

One destination rumored for Gurley, however, is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers—which would unite the star running back with Brady in the backfield for the revamped central Florida team.
