A few weeks ago, running back C.J. Anderson was without a team. Now, he is punching in rushing touchdowns for the Los Angeles Rams in a playoff game.

In the first half of the Rams' Divisional Round matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday night, Anderson punctured the Cowboys' stout defense with 22-yard run for a touchdown to put Los Angeles in front:

The Rams signed Anderson on Dec. 19 after he was cut by the Oakland Raiders. He was also cut by the Carolina Panthers earlier in the year.

With Todd Gurley still not 100 percent after suffering a knee injury against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 15, Anderson has been called upon quite often by Los Angeles, and he has delivered.

The 2014 Pro Bowler racked up 167 yards and a touchdown during the Rams' Week 16 win over the Arizona Cardinals and then followed that up with a 132-yard, one-score performance in a victory over the San Francisco 49ers in the season finale.

Early on in Los Angeles' playoff game against the Cowboys, Anderson has been getting a high volume of carries to help Gurley, and he is greatly mitigating Gurley's compromised health thus far.

The 27-year-old, who played his collegiate football at the University of California, went undrafted but ended up signing with the Denver Broncos as as a free agent back in April 2013.

He ended up making the Pro Bowl in his second season after he rushed for 849 yards and eight touchdowns.

Anderson, who suffered a knee injury in 2016, ended up totaling 1,007 yards in 2017.
