They say don't look ahead to your next opponent before dealing with the one in front of you. But Ryan Garcia's camp never got that memo as they were already eyeing a future fight against Gervonta “Tank” Davis even before their Saturday night showdown against Dominican Javier Fortuna.

Just days before the scheduled clash against Fortuna, Ryan Garcia's lawyer Lupe Valencia already confirmed that the negotiations against Tank Davis would begin once his client completes the KO:

“The only thing I can say is that right after [Ryan Garcia]   knocks out Fortuna, the negotiations will begin,” Look, realistically that's the fight that needs to happen. In my opinion, it's the biggest fight in boxing so we're going to try to make it happen.

King Ryan made his lawyer look like a prophet, with a sixth-round knockout on Fortuna:

Once Garcia took care of business, the focus immediately went back to finally setting up a the much anticipated showdown against Davis.

Via talkSPORT's Michael Benson:

Ryan Garcia on Gervonta Davis: “I’m not going back down to 135lbs for nothing, but I will fight Tank next at 140lbs. I’m gonna record all the negotiations so you can’t say I’m ducking. That fight’s gonna give me the respect I deserve. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

It's clear that Garcia wants that smoke. The two undefeated boxing icons have been on a collision course for the longest time. The fight is almost a certainty to happen sooner or later – it's just a matter of time.
