The Seattle Seahawks seemingly had full control against the Chicago Bears on Sunday afternoon, only to suffer an epic collapse in a 25-24 defeat. The Seahawks led 17-7 at halftime and 24-14 in the fourth quarter before blowing the game, with a crucial missed field goal and bad defense against Nick Foles and the Bears resulting in a game-winning 80-yard touchdown drive and 2-point conversion.

The loss dropped the Seahawks to 5-10 on the season and 0-5 in games decided by a field goal or less. Once a dominant clutch team, Seattle has been an abomination in crunch time in 2021, frustrating Wilson to no end.

Via Gregg Bell of The News Tribune:

“I think that’s the biggest and the toughest part about this season. I think about all the great seasons, all the great moments we’ve had. A lot of times it’s — this season in particular it feels like we have the lead or whatever it may be, and we can finish better.

“We have to be able to finish better in my opinion on offense. We can execute better. We can do little things better. …

The Seahawks star continued:

“This year has been tough to be where we are right now knowing that everybody has put so much energy and so much time into it and to know that we haven’t been able to be where we want to be. It’s definitely disappointing.”

Wilson's finger injury has obviously had a huge impact on this season. Not only did he miss time, but he hasn't been all that good since returning. The Seahawks quarterback was okay against the Bears in the snowy conditions, but he took a brutal sack on third down in the fourth quarter before Myers missed a 39-yard field goal to give the visiting team life. That kind of sack in the red zone just can't happen for a veteran star like Wilson.

This is a lost season for the Seahawks, and there could be big changes on the horizon. Wilson could very well be traded, while Pete Carroll could be a goner as well. This would certainly be a disappointing way to end a great era in Seattle.
