The Chicago Sky are taking on the Dallas Wings in their first matchup of the 2024 WNBA season. Highly touted rookie Angel Reese is also making her WNBA debut on Wednesday night. Reese is reportedly unveiling some special Reebok sneakers for her first professional game.

Reese will be debuting her own pink and white colored Reebok Solution PE sneakers against the Wings, as seen in the image provided by ClutchPoints:

The design features “Angel” written on the tongue and “Unapologetically Angel” on the insole. The sneakers are just one of Reese's numerous products in her partnership with Reebok. Her sharp pair of kicks could be just what she needs to kick the Sky's season off with a win.

Chicago travels to Dallas to take on a highly respected Wings team. Their squad finished the 2023 season with a 22-18 record and earned the WNBA Playoffs' fourth seed. Dallas will be led by
star guard Arike Ogunbowale.

Ogunbowale averaged 21.2 points, 4.5 assists, and 1.7 steals per game in 2023. Her tough play on both sides of the ball sets the tone for the Wings, and she has some of the best help in the league from Satou Sabally.

Sabally looks to continue her campaign as one of the top players in the WNBA. The 6-foot-4 forward tallied 18.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per contest in 2023. As a result, her efforts earned her a fifth-place finish in MVP voting.

Sabally is ruled out for Wednesday night's matchup, but with Ogunbowale and others in the lineup, Chicago must stay on its toes.

Speaking of game availability, the Sky will be without third overall pick Kamila Cardoso. Cardoso is nursing a shoulder injury she suffered in Chicago's first preseason game. In addition, former Wings forward Isabelle Harrison is out with a knee injury.

Nevertheless, with Reese and other contributors, the Sky have what it takes to get a debut win.

Angel Reese, Sky look to start WNBA season strong in 2024 debut

Angel Reese's new Reebok sneakers give her a sharp look but make no mistake, her play on the court will be the ultimate difference maker.

Reese had a stellar collegiate career with the LSU women's basketball team. After transferring to the Tigers in 2022, Reese made a historical impact on the program. She averaged college career bests of 23.0 points, 15.4 rebounds, 1.6 blocks, and an impressive 1.8 steals per game through 36 games in 2022-23.

Reese helped LSU earn a No. 3 seed in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, and her play helped the Tigers win their first national championship. Her team looked strong going into the 2023-24 season. Reese was a double-double machine. Add in her returning teammates along with Louisville transfer Haley Van Lith, and LSU looked poised for another title.

However, things did not go as the Tigers hoped. Reese's squad lost 94-87 to Caitlin Clark and the stellar Iowa women's basketball team in the 2024 Elite Eight. Afterward, Reese decided to forgo her last year of eligibility and enter the stacked 2024 WNBA Draft. The Chicago Sky pounced on the opportunity to select her with the seventh overall pick, and the rest is history.

Reese and her teammates look to start the season on a positive note. It will be interesting to see how the star forward fares as one of the most exciting WNBA seasons in history kicks off.
