Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad are truly after Liverpool's main first-team players this season. After their long-term pursuit of Mohamed Salah, they are also in the hunt for Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate.

Liverpool have seen a lot of talent depart to the Middle East so far this summer. They have allowed Roberto Firmino, Fabinho, and Jordan Henderson to leave for Saudi Arabia this summer. Most importantly, they have struggled to sign replacements as they have also offloaded Naby Keita, James Milner, and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain this summer.

Now, the bad news for Liverpool fans is that they may lose a lot more players by the end of this window, with Al Ittihad getting linked to Salah and Konate. This will totally blow off the mind of manager Jurgen Klopp, who has already endured a frustrating transfer window. He has also criticized FIFA for letting the Saudi Pro League finish their transfer market 10 days after the English Premier League.

“Pretty much the worst thing, I think is that the transfer window in Saudi Arabia is open for longer. If I am right, I heard something like that, then at least in Europe, that's not helpful. UEFA or FIFA must find solutions for that.” Klopp said.

Konate arrived at Liverpool in 2021. In the last two years, he has only managed to make 55 appearances for the Reds due to his horrific injury record. The Frenchman has three years left on his deal with the club, which could allow Liverpool to ask for a mega fee from Al Ittihad. The UK transfer window closes at 11 p.m. on Friday night, but Konate's future might not be sorted after that.
