As fans of comic book movies, we've become conditioned to sit through the credits and wait for the post-credits scenes. Usually, these tags give a tease for what's down the line or sometimes provide some comic relief after the film. What does Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse — the first of a two-part film — have at the end? Well, it's interesting.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

In disappointing news, Across the Spider-Verse doesn't feature any traditional mid or post-credits scenes. However, after the first wave of credits shows with the main cast and crew, a message appears on-screen: “Miles Morales will return.”

Now, these types of messages aren't anything new to Marvel movies. In fact, the MCU has been using that for years, sometimes giving away what movie or show the character will return in. Even Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 promised that Peter Quill will return.

After that? It's just standard credits and the movie ends. Maybe a tad disappointing for those looking for a tease for Beyond the Spider-Verse — even Infinity War had a post-credits scene — but perhaps they're saving all of the Spider-Man web-slinging for the next film.

Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse follows Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) against a new threat, the Spot (Jason Schwartzman). He's approached by Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld) and is brought into the world of the Spider-Society with a bevy of new Spider-Man characters including Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac), Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman, and Pavitr Prabhakar/Spider-Man India (Karan Soni).

Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse will be released on June 2.
