With The Acolyte taking viewers to the earliest period of Star Wars shown in live action, it has caused fans to wonder what other periods of the universe will make their way to TV or film. James Mangold will explore the very beginning of the Jedi Order, but one of the minds behind The Acolyte says there is one era fans have been asking for that she is also keen to visit.

The Acolyte's showrunner Leslye Headland sat down with Omelet to discuss her experience on the Disney Plus series and spoke about her desire to continue exploring the Star Wars universe, if the opportunity arises. The era she cited specifically, though, will make longtime Star Wars fans ears perk up as Headland is keen to dig into the Knights of the Old Republic and the characters that populate those games.

Many fans likely first instinct would be to jump to Darth Revan, who is considered one of the most important Sith Lords in Star Wars canon despite a large portion of Revan's being moved to Legends due to Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm. However, Headland admits she has eyes for a different character from the original game's sequel that may catch some fans by surprise.

“I've always wanted to explore a live-action version of the Knights of the Old Republic game and Kreia's character,” Headland said. “I think it would be a really interesting story to bring to life.”

The Sith Triumvirate

Kreia was introduced in Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords as one of the many new characters populating the player character's party. She is initially portrayed as a blind Force user who helps train the player character for most of the story.

It is later revealed that she is, in fact, Darth Traya, one of the three titular Sith Lords and the one responsible for training the other two players battle over the course of the game, Darth Nihilus and Darth Sion.

Following The Sith Lords' release, Kreia quickly became a popular character among fans for embodying the “grey” moral themes of The Sith Lords' story. Her dialogue throughout the game highlights this, often advising characters to follow a more “practical” approach to using the Force rather than following the “rigid” and “flawed” philosophies of the Jedi Order or previous Sith Orders.

Her popularity translated to Kreia regularly being highlighted in lists running down the best characters across all of Star Wars.

Wealth of the Old Republic

Even if Lucasfilm decided to go with a different character or narrative from Knights of the Old Republic, both games are populated with enough of both that the studio could choose one character's arc to craft a whole film or Disney Plus series around.

One example is the character of Canderous Ordo, who was introduced in the first game as a Mandalorian bounty hunter that joins the player's party. Ordo would reappear in the sequel under the title of Mandalore The Preserver and wearing the armor of the original Mandalore in an effort to reunite his people after their defeat and scattering in The Mandalorian Crusades.\
