With the Golden State Warriors clinching their second title in three years, much of the credit is given to their players, including Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. However, the coaching staff, led by Steve Kerr, also deserves the same amount of praise for the marvelous job they did throughout the season.

Proof of this is how the 51-year-old has been able to recover quickly from his back condition to coach in the Finals, which shows his dedication to his job. He also made history after Game 5 by becoming only the fourth coach in NBA history to win multiple titles in their first three seasons of coaching, joining the elite club together with Phil Jackson, Bill Russell, and John Kudla.

Kerr was also a four-time champion when he was a player, and his victory this year solidifies his case as one of the most successful figures in the NBA today. Following the heartache they suffered a year ago, and not winning a championship despite a historic 73-9 regular season, his team’s achievement on Monday night is the fitting ending to a two-year run, and completely avenges their epic collapse.

The good news for the Oakland faithful is he is still under contract and will be able to steer the Warriors to possibly another title run. With the series finishing early, it also gives him more time to rest and get back to 100 percent before the start of the next campaign.
