The worst case scenario came true for Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns. After being up 2-0 on the Milwaukee Bucks, two wins away from an NBA Championship, they succumbed to their rivals in heartbreaking fashion.

At the center of it all is Chris Paul. While Devin Booker has his entire career ahead of him, his Suns teammate is towards the tail end of his. CP3 was extremely candid with reporters about his emotions on the defeat.

Via Suns reporter Gerald Bourguet:

“I'll take some time to think about that, but right now, you just think about what you could've did more. Great group of guys, hell of a season”

Although the loss feels like the world is ending to most Suns fans, Chris Paul kept it simple about what he's taking away from their dispiriting defeat.

“For me it just means back to work. Nothing more, nothing less. There are no moral victories. We've seen what it takes to get here, and hopefully we see what it takes to get past that.”

Heartless NBA fans will continue to pile on the choker narrative and the ringless career of Chris Paul. But the Suns guard deserves every ounce of respect for getting this far at this point in his career.
