The Phoenix Suns grinded out a hard-fought 108-104 win over the Golden State Warriors to open their 2023-24 campaign, and the guy who carried them to victory in this game was Devin Booker. Booker was on fire from the get go for Phoenix, and after the game, Kevin Durant had the perfect two-word summary of Booker's outing.

Booker was the main source of offense for the Suns all game long, and the end result was an explosive season-opening performance from the star guard (32 PTS, 8 AST, 6 REB, 13/21 FGM). Booker was far more productive than Durant on this night (18 PTS, 11 REB, 3 AST, 7/22 FGM), and after the game, Durant was clearly appreciative of Booker's big game.

Given how much offensive talent the Suns have, there is some leeway for their top players to have off nights like Durant had here. Of course, that requires someone else stepping up, and against the Warriors, Booker was that guy. Making things even more scary for teams across the league is the fact that the Suns were without the third member of their trio in Bradley Beal, so their ceiling is even higher than they showed against the Warriors.

While this was a rocky game at times for the Suns, they did what they needed to do to pick up the victory, and at the end of the day, that's all you are looking for in the first game of the season. Devin Booker is already in midseason form, though, and if Kevin Durant (and eventually Bradley Beal) can get going as well, there would be no limit to what the Suns could accomplish this season.
