FULL DETAILS ON NBA BETTING SCANDAL:

The FBI and federal prosecutors in the Eastern District of New York have made a series of arrests connected to a nationwide illegal gambling and corruption ring that infiltrated the NBA. The probe, called Operation Royal Flush, uncovered two overlapping schemes — one manipulating NBA games and prop bets using insider information, and another involving rigged underground poker games backed by organized crime.

More than thirty people have been charged so far, including three with NBA ties:

- Chauncey Billups, head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, charged in connection with high-stakes poker games in Manhattan, Miami, and Las Vegas that were allegedly rigged with hidden cameras and Mafia funding.

- Terry Rozier, guard for the Miami Heat, accused of leaking insider information to betting rings and faking a foot injury during a 2023 game to trigger winning prop bets. Prosecutors linked him to over $13,000 in suspicious wagers.

- Damon Jones, former Cavaliers assistant coach, charged for supplying inside information and participating in both the betting and poker operations.

Authorities say the operation spanned 11 states, used cryptocurrency to launder tens of millions of dollars, and involved members of multiple New York Mafia families.

The FBI called it “one of the most brazen sports corruption schemes since the legalization of sports betting.”

The #NBA has yet to issue a formal statement. Federal officials said additional arrests and indictments are expected as the case expands.
