Talon Esports has just released carry Gabbi and support captain Fly from its roster, the organization announced on Wednesday.

Talon Esports has parted ways with Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte and Tal “Fly” Azik, citing the travel restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. According to the announcement, the organization and the players have mutually agreed to part ways. The two joined the organization as founding members of its Dota 2 team, which formed after The International 2021. Neither Gabbi nor Fly have indicated where they are headed next, but no doubt that two are already considering offers from other teams right now.

This is the first roster change in the Southeast Asia region during the Winter Off-season, which will no doubt lead to a domino effect that will see the SEA landscape terraformed by the time the Spring season rolls in. Dota 2‘s Winter Season ended abruptly as the game's publisher Valve decided to cancel the Dota 2 Pro Circuit's Winter Major. This move was negatively received by fans who believe that Valve isn't doing enough to ensure that the Dota 2 professional scene remains healthy and decried Valve's decision to only redistribute DPC points but not the cash prize that was supposed to be earned by teams in the Winter Major.
