Recently cut by the Arizona Cardinals, running back Adrian Peterson openly admits that the Houston Texans is a franchise he would love to play for.

Peterson told TMZ that his “dream scenario” was to sign with the Texans.

“Obviously, being back home would be awesome,” Peterson said. “Houston has always been a team I’ve thought about. . . .

“Being back here at home where I work out every day. My family is here. My family is close. My mom is here. Being around her a little more during this time [in my life] would be even more a cherry on top.”

Before being cut by the Cardinals, the 32-year-old still had one more year on his two-year, $7 million deal that he had originally signed with the New Orleans Saints last offseason. He was traded just four games into his very disappointing stint with the Saints to the Cardinals for a conditional sixth-round pick.

In six games with Arizona, he notched 448 rushing yards on 129 carries with a pair of touchdowns as he became the Cardinals’ lead back in the absence of David Johnson. Unfortunately, he missed the last month of the regular season after suffering a neck injury.

Obviously, Cowboys fans are likely hoping Dallas is close enough to home for Peterson to consider any offer from Jerry Jones.
