The Houston Texans are facing un uphill climb early in the 2018 NFL season. With back-to-back losses to the New England Patriots and the Tennessee Titans in Weeks 1 and 2, respectively, the Texans now find themselves at the cellar of the AFC South as the only winless team in the division.

After the Titans handed the Texans a 20-17 loss on Sunday, Houston second-year quarterback Deshaun Watson made it clear how strong his belief is that he and his teammates are going to turn things around, per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

We're fine,” Watson said. “If you're one of the guys, one of the people, one of the fans hitting the panic button, then that's on y'all. Don't hop on the train later on down the season. There's no point in panicking.

Despite Watson’s bold rhetoric, it’s still understandable why some Houston fans are growing anxious. The Texans entered the season brimming with confidence with J.J. Watt, Whitney Mercilus, and Deshaun Watson back after suffering season-ending injuries last year. Their defense also got an additional boost with the signing of safety Tyrann Mathieu.

Watson, who passed for 307 yards and two touchdowns with an interception in the loss to the Titans, will look to lead Houston to its first win of the season next week against the New York Giants at home.

While the season is still early, the Texans’ margin for error and their buffer for failure have receded significantly after two weeks of football. It may not be time to panic just yet for Houston, but Watson and company are definitely feeling the pressure.
