Former Pittsburgh Steelers standout Hines Ward recently interviewed for the Houston Texans head coaching position.

Ward is currently the wide receiver coach at Florida Atlantic University. Besides his coaching at Florida Atlantic, he also coached with the New York Jets. Hiring Ward would be an interesting hire from the Texans' perspective, but it could be the right one if they see him fitting.

The Texans certainly didn't have the season that they were hoping for this year as they finished with only four wins. They are a team that does have some talent but weren't able to put it together this year. Factor in that they were also missing star Quarterback Deshaun Watson, and it makes a lot of sense why the Texans did struggle this year.

The Texans also announced that they interviewed Joe Lombardi. Lombardi is the offensive coordinator of the high-powered Los Angeles Chargers. This would be a great hire because as we have seen with the Chargers, they have one of the best offenses in all of football. Hiring Lombardi will help this Texans team speed up their rebuild process.

Bringing in Hines Ward wouldn't be a horrible decision but he does not have much coaching experience in the NFL. He does have plenty of experience as a player which could be a major factor in why the Texans do decide to sign him as their head coach.

Houston will certainly look to be better than they were a season ago.
