Houston Texans owner Cal McNair is hoping star quarterback Deshaun Watson is not ghosting the organization.

McNair said Friday he has reached out to Watson after the Texans hired Nick Caserio as the new general manager, though he has yet to hear back:

“I've reached out to Deshaun about Nick's hire and I look forward to him getting back to me when he gets back from his vacation,” McNair said, via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

The situation in Houston's front office has been nothing short of chaos.

Houston previously named Bill O'Brien general manager, in addition to his position as head coach. But the team fired O'Brien after questionable offseason decisions and purported verbal altercations with players and staff.

McNair brought in Jack Easterby to oversee general operations. Easterby played a role in the team's eventual decision to hire Caserio, mostly because of a shared relationship between the two.

All the confusion and maneuvering in the front office has reportedly frustrated Watson.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the former Clemson star was upset the team did not heed his suggestions for general manager. There is also speculation as to whether he is dismayed over the Texans not requesting an interview with Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy for the head coaching position.

For his part, Caserio hopes to move forward with Watson under center:

“He's our quarterback,” Caserio said of Watson, via Wilson. “Can't tell you how much respect and admiration I have for our player.”

Watson might be upset with the organization, but McNair and Caserio both seem intent on convincing him he has a future in Houston.
