The Houston Texans have signed linebacker Tyrell Adams to their active roster, according to The Houston Chronicle.

This will mark Adams' second stint with the Texans this season. He played three games with the team earlier this season, registering a couple of tackles before being released at the end of October.

A month after being cut by Houston, Adams signed with the San Francisco 49ers and played on their practice squad.

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at West Georgia, went undrafted but was signed by the Seattle Seahawks as a free agent in May 2015.

He has also spent time with the Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, Buffalo Bills and the Indianapolis Colts, but prior to this season with the Texans, Adams had only appeared in 12 NFL games, which came with the Raiders between 2016 and 2017.

During those two years, the Atlanta native totaled 15 tackles, with all of those stops coming last season.

Houston is coming off of a devastating loss to the Philadelphia Eagles this past weekend. Not only did the defeat drop the Texans to 10-5, but with the New England Patriots' win over the Buffalo Bills, they lost their grip on a first-round bye and also saw wide receiver Demaryius Thomas tear his Achilles during the defeat.

Houston, which started out the year 0-3 and then proceeded to win nine straight games, has lost two of its last three contests and will play host to the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday. The Texans will need a victory over the Jaguars and a Patriots loss to the New York Jets in order to land the No. 2 seed in the AFC.
