The Houston Police Department has just communicated that a new complaint has been filed against Houston Texans star quarterback Deshaun Watson.

This report comes via an official statement courtesy of the Houston Police Department on Twitter:

Aside from confirmation that a new complainant has emerged, no further details were divulged as to the nature of the complaint. However, there has been speculation that this is yet another sexual assault allegation against the Texans star.

Watson's camp has since responded to the complaint, with his attorney, Rusty Hardin, claiming that this is a welcome development from their end:

The Houston Texans' star quarterback is in the midst of a full-blown controversy right now. Watson is facing multiple lawsuits for alleging him of sexual assault or inappropriate behavior around the women who have filed the complaints. According to reports, Deshaun Watson is now facing 21 lawsuits of similar nature.

It is worth noting, however, that among the 21 complaints, none of the accusers have reported the allegations to the police:

Throughout his career, Watson has maintained a squeaky clean image. He's been one of the poster boys of the NFL, which is also why these allegations have come as a complete shock. Needless to say, these developments will likely have a significant impact on Watson's image, and his career moving forward.

Unfortunately for Deshaun Watson, this issue has already had a negative impact on his reputation. This is regardless of the fact that nothing has been proven as of yet. These are the types of stories that stick, and as it is, it has already tarnished Deshaun Watson's public image.
