It may be 107 degrees in Arizona, but that isn't stopping Houston Texans superstar Deshaun Watson from getting work in with his new teammate.

In the sweltering heat of Phoenix on Monday, Watson was throwing to new Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks. The footage was captured by Watson's personal quarterbacks coach, Quincy Avery.

Obviously, Watson and Cooks need to build chemistry. Watson spent the first three seasons of his NFL career throwing to DeAndre Hopkins, but back in March, the Texans traded Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals.

While Cooks certainly isn't on Hopkins' level, he is still an excellent receiver in his own right. He will almost certainly take over as Houston's No. 1 wideout in a group that also includes Will Fuller, Randall Cobb, Kenny Stills, and Keke Coutee.

Cooks spent the 2019 campaign with the Los Angeles Rams, playing in 14 games and catching 42 passes for 583 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

The 26-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Oregon State, was originally selected by the New Orleans Saints in the first round (20th pick overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Cooks broke out during his second season, hauling in 84 receptions for 1,138 yards and nine scores. After another impressive year with the Saints in 2016, he was traded to the New England Patriots.

The Stockton, Ca. native spent just one season with the Patriots, snaring 65 balls for 1,082 yards while reaching the end zone seven times before being traded to the Rams. Cooks enjoyed what was arguably his best campaign during his debut season in Los Angeles, registering 80 grabs for 1,204 yards and five touchdowns.
