The new Pokemon Unite character drops today – it's going to be Blissey, taking on a melee support role. She will have heals and attack speed increases for her teammates.

The new Pokemon Unite character: Blissey

The official Pokemon Unite Twitter account also included a gameplay clip, showing off its skills. Blissey throws eggs to heal her teammates and damage her enemies. Happiny is Blissey's starting form. Throughout a match, she will evolve into Chansey and eventually Blissey as she levels up. In other Pokemon games and in the anime, Blissey also fills a supportive role. She appears as an assistant in Pokemon Centers of major cities.

Aside from the addition of a new Pokemon Unite character, there will also be several updates to the game. This includes bug and text fixes, alongside shop updates and balance changes.

Blissey's Move Set

Heal Pulse

  • Continuously restores both Blissey's an ally's HP for a short time.

Soft-Boiled

  • Throws an egg at an ally, restoring their HP and Blissey's. It has three charges that can be kept in reserve.

Safeguard

  • Removes all status effects on an ally and makes them immune to debuffs for a time. Once upgraded, it also applies a shield.

Helping Hand

  • Increases the movement speed and basic attack speed of Blissey and a nearby ally. All Blissey's attacks will also be boosted while it's active.

Egg Bomb

  • Hurls and egg at a designated location and explodes, dealing damage to enemies and pushing them back. Also decreases their movement speed once the skill is upgraded.

Unite Move: Bliss Assistance

  • Rushes to an ally and protects them from attacks with a shield. This also increases the ally's Attack and Sp. Attack.

Blissey being the new Pokemon Unite character comes as a surprise. It was unexpected due to previous reports speculating that Blastoise was going to be the next addition to the Pokemon Unite roster. This is due to Blastoise being shown alongside Gardevoir a while back. Gardevoir is already in the game, while there is currently no official news on Blastoise.
