Despite signing small forward Shabazz Muhammad to a veteran's minimum contract on Tuesday, the Minnesota Timberwolves have not taken their eyes off free agent marksman Dante Cunningham, according to ESPN 1500's Darren Wolfson.

In a league that can't ever have enough outside shooting, the Timberwolves are looking to bolster their depth that much more, hoping to make use of their three remaining open roster spots for the veteran journeyman.

Despite a non-impressive 6.6 points and 4.2 rebounds per game last season, Cunningham rescued his NBA career by shooting 39.2 percent from beyond the arc, giving him a much-needed area of expertise going forward.

An eight-year veteran, Cunningham had made two total three-point baskets through the first six years of his career, making 55 in 2016-17 and 71 last season, which boasted his best efficiency to date.

At 6-foot-8, the Villanova product can bounce between the small forward and power forward positions when part of a small lineup. His ability to defend and stretch the floor could prove valuable for the team, but Minnesota would only be able to offer him a contract for the veteran's minimum and the potential to make the playoffs, having missed out on the chance the last two seasons.
