NFL teams are taking advantage of the fact that they are now allowed to wear multiple helmets in the same season, and the Tennessee Titans are the latest team to join the club, as they have brought back their classic uniforms from their days as the Houston Oilers in an epic announcement video.

The new helmet rule allows teams to bring back iconic looks like this one, and the Titans will be wearing their Houston Oilers throwbacks for two games this season, according to Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team.

Here is a look at the uniform in a still photo:

It will be interesting to see who the Titans wear these uniforms against, and if the matchup has any historical significance.

It has been an exciting last week or so for Titans fans. First, they landed DeAndre Hopkins in free agency, beating out the New England Patriots for him. They were willing to commit to DeAndre Hopkins more financially than the Patriots were. Now, they get the announcement of these throwback uniforms.

Hopkins will pair with Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry. He will fill the void that was left by AJ Brown last season. When Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry have an alpha wide receiver to play with, they usually succeed and are competitive. The goal will undoubtedly be to get back into the playoffs in the 2023 season.

The Titans missed out on the playoffs last season, and are hoping to return this season. They hope to look good in doing so as well with these throwback uniforms.
