Titans HC Mike Vrabel jokes that Derrick Henry ‘ran out of guys to stiff arm’ on 99-yard TD run
Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry set numerous records during his incredible performance against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday night, and it has head coach Mike Vrabel in a happy mood.
Henry not only set a franchise record with 238 rushing yards on the night, but he also became just the second player in NFL history to notch a 99-yard rush for a score.
Former Dallas Cowboys star Tony Dorsett also accomplished the feat back in 1983.
But Henry’s record-breaking evening was more than enough to garner a smile and a joke from Vrabel, whose team now sits at 7-6 on the season.
Mike Vrabel jokingly said Derrick Henry ran out of guys to stiff arm on the 99 yd TD run.
Henry’s phenomenal rush is certainly one that Titans fans won’t forget, and more than likely, neither will Jacksonville fans or players.
After what’s been an up and down season for the Tennessee offense, Henry exploded for a career night while also getting help from his defense.
That’s a formula for success for the Titans moving forward, as they still hope to land a playoff spot now that they’re above .500 on the season.
Vrabel’s squad will return to the field next week for a clash with the New York Giants, and after that, the Titans will have home games against Washington and Indianapolis to round out the regular season.
