The Tennessee Titans secured the first seed and the first-round bye week in the 2022 NFL Playoffs. However, the 12-5 team failed to make it past their first postseason matchup, losing to the Cincinnati Bengals in the Divisional Round.

Ryan Tannehill spoke to the media Tuesday morning and discussed a variety of different topics. The Titans quarterback told the media that he struggled a lot with the postseason loss.

“It's a deep scar,” Tannehill said.

Titans reporter Jim Wyatt tweeted a clip of the press conference Tuesday afternoon.

“It was a lot of sleepless nights. Every time I closed my eyes I was re-watching the game in my head. Didn't get a whole lot of sleep for weeks and weeks after the game…was in a dark place. It took me a while and a lot of work to get out of it. It wasn't something that went away easily.”

The Titans quarterback also said that he was able to cope with the open wound with the help of those around him.

“I've worked through it, but therapy, talking to people, time helped. It took a lot of work to get through it,” he said, quote courtesy of ESPN's Turron Davenport.

Now, he's ready to take on the upcoming season, even if it means fighting for his job. Tannehill said the playoff loss is both a scar and fuel for him to “work and get ready with a passion.” According to the quarterback, he has a “desire to win” that he has “never had before.”
