Adrian Peterson has now become one of the most crucial additions in the middle of this NFL season. The newest Tennessee Titans running back has some massive Derrick Henry-sized shoes to fill with King Henry sidelined with a foot injury.

But if things went a little differently, we would have been seeing AP show off his fancy footwork on network television instead of following handoffs from Ryan Tannehill.

The Titans RB was nearly a contestant on Dancing with the Stars, which would have paid him quite a hefty sum to swap his cleats for dancing shoes.

Via ESPN:

The show called Peterson in early September and offered him $150,000 for the rehearsal period alone, with the chance to earn up to $335,000 on the show, sources told ESPN.

While getting paid approximately half a million dollars to dance is a pretty decent proposition, the effort it would take to do that would probably be much greater than just sticking to football. Adrian Peterson, after all, is one of the best running backs in NFL history.

That's exactly the reason he turned it down, opting instead to hold out hope an NFL team would come calling. Peterson held out hope that the Ravens, amid their slew of injuries at RB, would be interested. But now he finds himself arguably in the most favorable situation he could ask for, with a Titans team highly dependent on the run game. We'll just have to wait and see how well he'll fare as the Titans take on a gargantuan task in the Los Angeles Rams in Week 9.
