Scottie Scheffler is currently the number one ranked golfer in the world, per the Official World Golf Ranking website. Naturally, LIV Golf would love to have someone of his caliber join their circuit. LIV Golf has already seen the likes of Brooks Koepka, Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, and Bryson DeChambeau join their tour. So could Scheffler be next to leave the PGA Tour?

He was asked if there was a price LIV Golf could offer that would steer him away from the PGA, per golf writer Jason Sobel.

“I don’t think so,” Scheffler said. “I never dreamed about playing for this much money. I don’t know how much I’ve made this year, but it’s definitely too much for hitting a little white ball around.”

Scottie Scheffler seems to have a quality perspective on the matter. However, we have seen a number of players say one thing and then do another in recent weeks.

Rory McIlroy commented on the issue of indecision amongst former PGA players, per Golf Digest's Dan Rapaport.

“It's pretty duplicitous on their part to say one thing and then do another thing.”

Bryson DeChambeau is an example of a golfer who originally echoed one sentiment before ultimately heading in a completely different direction.

Players have understandably been hesitant to say anything positive about LIV Golf prior to joining the Saudi-backed tour. Nonetheless, their approach to the matter has seemingly frustrated people such as Rory McIlroy.

But for Scheffler, he is presently focused on the PGA Tour and upcoming Travelers Championship. He will aim to rebound and maintain his world leading golf status after watching Matthew Fitzpatrick win the US Open last weekend.
