Tyson Fury has triggered his rematch clause after suffering his first defeat and his chance to become the undisputed heavyweight champion against Oleksandr Usyk. It has just been announced by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh that the rematch will take place on December 21, 2024, during Riyadh Season.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk put on a fight that will go down as one of the greatest heavyweight boxing fights of all time. It was a back-and-forth war that saw both fighters lay it all on the line to the bitter end where many fans had no idea who won the fight. The judges agreed that it was a very close fight that they were also split on who should become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis back in 1999.

At the end of the fight, it was Usyk who got his hand raised keeping his undefeated streak intact while serving Fury up the first loss of his professional career. Immediately after the fight, Fury was calling for the rematch which was slated to take place in October but due to medical suspensions, the rematch is now pushed back to December. Now, fans will be on the edge of their seat eagerly awaiting for this rematch to happen.

Tyson Fury's corner could change for Fury vs. Usyk 2

Tyson Fury has been getting some flack for his game plan from his corner in between rounds. There was a ton of scrutiny for his corner work as many believed that led to his downfall in his matchup with Oleksandr Usyk.

In typical John Fury fashion, he made it all about himself. He didn't allow the actual trainers Sugar Hill or Andy Hill to give constructive advice in the corner that could help Tyson Fury get his hand raised in the end. It was a lot of screaming and yelling from John Fury which made it seem like Tyson wasn't getting the technical advice he needed in the biggest fight of his life.

Tyson Fury is going to need to rethink his strategy going into his rematch with Usyk and think about whether it will be wise or not to have his father in his corner. While he is a great support system, he has done more harm than good as we saw in their first encounter. It will be interesting to see if Tyson Fury makes the necessary changes in his corner men but either way, this fight is going to be another spectacle between the two best heavyweight boxers on the planet and the world is anticipating another great match on December 21st.
