Anderson Silva has put UFC president Dana White on the spot as he opens the idea of a boxing match against Georges St-Pierre.

Despite already being slated for a boxing match against Tito Ortiz, Silva is also fancying sharing the ring with fellow UFC legend Georges St-Pierre in the future.

According to Silva, boxing has become a new platform for legendary fighters like him and St-Pierre. Hence, a fight between the two of them will be “interesting.”

“It’s a possibility,” the Brazilian MMA icon recently told MMA Fighting. “Georges St-Pierre is a guy that deserves all respect. Not only him, but all fighters. Vitor [Belfort], Tito [Ortiz], [Oscar] De La Hoya — they are legends. And I think it would be an interesting fight, but we need the almighty to stop being annoying and let the guy move on.”

However, Anderson Silva is well aware that a scrap with GSP will not be as simple as it sounds, especially with Dana White very likely to shut it all down.

“I would like [White] to free [GSP] him [from his contract],” the former UFC middleweight champion stressed. “He’s in shape to continue fighting, there’s no reason why you would keep him stuck [there] just for ego. It’s ridiculous. That’s my opinion, it’s ridiculous. Let the guy go.”

“He won’t fight a young guy, he’ll fight a De La Hoya, he’ll fight someone that gives him conditions to perform well,” he added. “But you’ll hold him to a contract after everything he’s done for your company? Doing something like that is ridiculous.”

To this day, St-Pierre is still in contract with the UFC and it has prohibited him from taking part in any type of fighting event, including the botched boxing match against Oscar De La Hoya and more likely, the potential fight against Anderson Silva.
