Damian Lillard and Kyle Kuzma know very well what gave the Golden State Warriors the edge in their Game 1 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies appeared to be on their way to victory after dominating the first half 61-55 and seeing Draymond Green get ejected for the Warriors late in the second quarter. However, the Dubs showed their tenacity and championship experience to get the W and erase the homecourt advantage.

Memphis took the lead with over a minute left in the fourth quarter, but Klay Thompson delivered a 3-point dagger right to the hearts of Memphis fans with 36.6 second left. Golden State held on for the 117-116 win and the 1-0 series lead.

As Lillard and Kuzma noted, it all boiled down to “championship resilience” and mentality.

The Warriors' core trio of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have plenty of postseason experience, and they have been through almost everything. With that said, as Damian Lillard and Kyle Kuzma said, it's no surprise they were able to beat the Grizzlies in the clutch.

Golden State players simply know what to do and what is needed from them in such situations, and they've shown once again why they are three-time champions in the past seven years.

That factor could be crucial in the series. If the Grizzlies are unable to dominate the Warriors, they will always be in danger during high-pressure situations.
