For the past three seasons, the Golden State Warriors have had the best record in the NBA, winning 67, 73, and 67 games, respectively. This season has been different for them though, as even if they have already 44 victories through 58 outings, they do not own the best win-loss slate and are only second in the Western Conference standings behind the Houston Rockets.

Despite their current standing, two of their players, Draymond Green and Kevin Durant, recently made it known that they are not losing sleep over their record. They know that what's important is to make it to the playoffs — something that they can do with their eyes closed — and that there's still a long way to go before the regular season ends, according to Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

“I don’t even look at the standings,” Green said. “We haven’t even talked about it.”

“Best record? That’s not even a thing,” added Durant. “It’s about playing good basketball every night. If we don’t play good basketball, we’ll lose.”

The Warriors are a veteran team and they have a deep understanding of what it takes to win a championship. While regular season records are important to secure home court advantage, they also know that it's not the sole basis of gauging their campaign's success.

What is important for them is winning the title, as nothing short of it is acceptable to Golden State and their fans, especially with the amount of talent they have in their fold.

With the second half of the season starting later this week, the Warriors will be one of the teams to watch out for as they have played their best basketball after the All-Star break in years past. If they perform again like how they did the past three seasons, it won't come as a complete shock that they will be on top of the standings and own the best record in the league after game no.82 wraps up.
