It didn't take long for Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson to find his rhythm back in his first game since missing the last couple of games due to a knee issue. The five-time All-Star exploded for 39 points in their 122-105 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Friday.

According to Mark Medina of The Mercury News, it also didn't take long for his teammate Draymond Green to know that Thompson in for a huge night.

While the fact that Thompson did this after missing some time is incredible, it really shouldn't surprise us anymore. Thompson is one of those who can get dangerously hot in a hurry. Not only thay, the Warriors sniper can also get hot from out of nowhere, too.

Earlier in the season, Thompson also had an explosion of volcanic proportions to break his teammate Stephen Curry's record of three-pointers made in a game, making 14 triples en route to 52 points in just three quarters.

In their showdown against the Nuggets, Thompson found his rhythm early, scoring 10 points in the first quarter. He got even hotter in the second period, scorching the net with 17 more, and finished the half with 27 points.

Thompson shot 13-of-22 from the field overall and made 9 of his 11 triple tries on the night to lead Golden State over the Nuggets in a matchup that featured the top two teams in the Western Conference.

With the win, the Dubs strengthened their hold on the top seed, while also keeping the Nuggets at bay, who are now two games behind the defending champs.

More importantly, this was a great redemption victory for the bay area squad. The win put them back on track after they suffered their worst defeat of the season on Tuesday night against the Boston Celtics.
