Down the stretch of Friday night's game against the Portland Trail Blazers, star power forward Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors were simply too undermanned and too tired to pull off a comeback against star guard duo Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum of the Blazers.

However, in a postgame video uploaded to Twitter by Warriors beat reporter Anthony Slater of The Athletic, Green said all of Golden State's injuries were unfortunate but says that the Blazers are capable of doing serious damage whenever Lillard and McCollum are on the court.

“They’re always a threat. They got two of the best guards in the league,” Green said of Lillard and McCollum after Friday night's loss. “So when you got two players like they got, always a threat. … So they’ve improved for sure. But none the less, the key is always going to be to try to contain Dame and C.J. If you can do that, you can win. If you can’t do that, you got a shot at winning but it ain’t that good.”

The loss to the Blazers, which snapped Golden State's seven-game winning streak and was the team's first loss since the All-Star break, had five Warriors rotation players inactive with injuries heading into the game.

Two-time MVP point guard Stephen Curry was out with a tweaked right ankle, forward Andre Iguodala had a left wrist sprain, guard Patrick McCaw was inactive with a non-displaced fracture in his left wrist, power forward David West had a cyst in his right arm, and rookie forward Jordan Bell continues to deal with a right ankle sprain.

The Warriors (51-15) are still just 0.5 games back of the Houston Rockets, who had their 18-game winning streak snapped last night by the Toronto Raptors for the top seed in the Western Conference. Golden State will travel to play the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday afternoon at Target Center before they return home to host the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night.
