Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob doesn't expect the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics to be easy, but he remains confident his team can beat Jayson Tatum and Co.

In an interview with Tim Kawakami of The Athletic, Lacob shared his reasoning why he thinks the Warriors have the edge against the Celtics. While there is no doubt Boston will put up a big fight, the Dubs boss noted that he still sees the Steve Kerr-coached squad as the better team.

“I think I want it more now because this is considered a great matchup if you’re an NBA fan,” Lacob explained. “I think it’s going to be a very interesting matchup. I think it’s going to be really hard. … I think we’ll win. I think we’re better. I believe in our coach and I believe in our roster. But I don’t think it’s going to be easy at all. It’s going to be a big battle.”

Joe Lacob has certainly every reason to be optimistic. The NBA Finals odds put the Warriors as the slight favorites, and the fact that they have championship experience with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green leading the way give them major advantage.

Meanwhile, the Celtics are playing in their first NBA Finals with their current roster. Sure they have 17 championships, but the last time they made the Finals was in 2008–almost 14 years ago.

Of course as Lacob said, they cannot be too overconfident and underestimate the Celtics. They are in the finale for a reason. However, the Warriors owner is not wrong to have that so much belief in his team. Golden State has earned that.
