Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr is seeing an incredible progress in Otto Porter Jr. that he has never seen before.

Otto Porter Jr.'s contributions to the Warriors don't often stand out in the box score. However, coach Kerr still appreciates the hard work he's been putting in since joining Golden State.

According to Kerr, the “biggest surprise” in Porter Jr. thus far is the fact that the versatile forward has managed to be at his healthiest.

“I think the biggest surprise, honestly, is that he’s been healthy,” Kerr said of Porter Jr. via 95.7 The Game's “Damon & Ratto” podcast. “It had been a rough couple of years for Otto. He has not been healthy. As soon as he signed his contract in the summer, he was in our training room that week and every day since. He put in the work and it’s paid off for him.”

“We knew he was a good player,” he continued. “It was mainly, we were just trying to figure if he was going to be available and healthy. It’s just been great to see. He’s really been a fun player to coach and play with.”

Earlier this month, Kerr said that he thinks the Warriors could be on course to win a championship again. Porter Jr. is kind of feeling the same way and he has been enjoying every bit moment.

“I am just along for the ride like you are,” the 28-year-old said of Warriors' run last week. “It is amazing, but we know what we are capable of, and it is just a matter of us coming out and doing it every night. We have to take it one game at a time. Whoever is out there, we have to focus on Warriors basketball.”
