It was earlier revealed that the Golden State Warriors actually had a chance to do a “The Last Dance”-style documentary featuring their fifth Finals run in 2019 — something that head coach Steve Kerr said that they rejected because they did not want to imbibe a “sense of finality” last season.

Dubs superstar Stephen Curry backed up his coach's statement during a “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” interview, saying that he believes it was the correct decision to make at that time:

“When we were going through these five Finals runs the last five years, our last year we turned down an opportunity, I believe, to have cameras follow our last season,” Curry said. “I think that was the right decision.”

Both Kerr and Curry are making a lot of sense here. Despite some saying that the Warriors' dynasty has already come to an end, this is not something they are willing to accept at this point. The Dubs feel that they are anything but done, with Curry even coming out to make a bold promise that the Warriors have every intention of making at least another run for a title.

There's no denying that Golden State is in the midst of its worst season over the past few years — maybe even ever — but the fact of the matter is that they should be back to full strength next season. Their core is still intact, so there's no way anybody can count out a healthy Warriors side from being legitimate title contenders in 2020-21.

For now, Curry and the Warriors are waiting to see what will happen with the remainder of the 2019-20 season. While Curry was part of a conference call involving numerous other superstars expressing support to restart, Golden State is operating like its season is over because of the standings.
