Golden State Warriors superstar point guard Stephen Curry can't be in LeBron James' Space Jam 2 due to scheduling issues.

Curry's teammate, guard Klay Thompson, will be in it. Damian Lillard, Anthony Davis and WNBA stars Diana Taurasi, Nneka Ogwumike and Chiney Ogwumike are expected to play roles in the film, which begins production this summer.

Via Sopan Deb of The New York Times:

The next several months have much in store for Curry, a 31-year-old basketball savant who, after 10 seasons, is already thinking hard about life after basketball. No, he won’t be making a cameo in LeBron James’s production of “Space Jam 2” (he was asked but said no, citing scheduling issues), but he will probably field a call or two from former President Barack Obama (he said they are in contact about once a month).

Curry's new mini-golf show “Holey Moley” premiered on Thursday on ABC. The show probably has something to do with the Warriors guard not being in Space Jam 2.

When James was on the Cleveland Cavaliers, The King and Curry had a fierce rivalry on the court. The Cavs and Warriors meant four straight times in the NBA Finals, with Curry and the Dubs winning three of them.

It would have been fun to see Curry and James act together in Space Jam 2. We'll just have to settle for LeBron and Klay.
