Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry just named the top five players of all time in his book: Wilt Chamberlain, Magic Johnson, Shaquille O'Neal, Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

Remarkably, four of those players played for the Los Angeles Lakers. Only Jordan — considered the Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) — didn't play for the heralded franchise.

Of course, there are some notable exclusions from Stephen Curry's list. Some could point out that the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Kobe Bryant deserve a nod on the list, particularly over LeBron who has had his fair share of critics over the years.

Boston Celtics legends Bill Russell and Larry Bird also make a strong case, though they have always been outliers in conversations like this.

Sure enough, when coming up with the top five players of all time, there are players bound to be snubbed. To be fair, it's still an excellent list from the Curry, who himself could be part of top-five debates in the future.

Be as it may, choosing a top-five player of all time is still a valid exercise. It goes to show that amid the thousands and thousands of players that have graced the NBA floors, only a few have made an impact and a lasting influence.
