The frontrunners to this year's MVP award are Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid and Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokić. However, Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Stephen Curry is quickly joining the discussion.

Curry made an appearance on the Rex Chapman Show on Wednesday and made his stance very clear on who should win the award amid his impressive scoring run.

With all the injuries the Warriors have endured, Curry is stepping up at a level few could have seen coming. He has been incendiary this month, as the team fights for placing in the Western Conference.

Klay Thompson suffering a devastating injury before the season even started, put a cap on what the team can achieve. Draymond Green had a rough start to the season, but eventually found his form and is now back to dishing out assists and playing elite defense. Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre, Jr. have show improvement and are one of the most athletic wings around, but are not exactly the best fit for the brand of basketball Golden State plays.

Despite all these, Curry has been playing out of his mind. He has never had to put the Warriors on his shoulders for such an extended amount of time with a limited supporting cast.

Due to that and his ability to keep the team in the hunt for a playoff race, Curry certainly believes he should be considered the MVP. He hasn't really been discussed as a favorite to win it with Nikola Jokic leading the race, but given his ridiculous scoring run lately, maybe that'll change.
