Many have stated that ‘Father Time' is undefeated, but LeBron James continues to be an outlier in that conversation. Steve Kerr, the head coach of the Golden State Warriors, is impressed by James' ability to age tremendously:

“Charles Barkley always says ‘Father Time is undefeated’ but LeBron is putting up a hell of a fight right now,” Kerr said Saturday in a call with reporters. “It’s incredible to watch how athletic and powerful he remains. The skill set is better than ever. Coaching against him is a real challenge year after year because he’s also one of the smartest players you’ll ever see.”

When LeBron James came into the NBA at 19 years old in 2003, he was extremely athletic and his playmaking skills were unmatched. Fast forward to 17 years later and those can still describe James as he looks to capture his fourth NBA championship (first with the Los Angeles Lakers).

Throughout the years, we've seen some of the best players of all time begin to falter in their mid-30s. However, James hasn't seen much of a drop off in his production, and he actually set a career-high in assists during the 2019-2020 season.

Kerr has faced James 38 times since accepting the job for the Warriors, with 22 of those games coming in the NBA Finals. Given that, Kerr is aware of how good LeBron has remained despite him getting a year older every year just like everyone else.

The veteran head coach even ventured to say that the current version of James is the best version of him we've seen. Even though James is beginning to have gray hair in his beard, Kerr is in awe of the level that the 35-year-old forward continues to play at.
