While the rest of the world is looking elsewhere, the Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry are over in the Bay Area doing their collective thing. More on that in a second, though.
Plenty of attention has been paid to the contract extension signed by LeBron James, and the Milwaukee Bucks are awaiting a decision on Giannis Antetkounmpo regarding the supermax.
But another top star is also eligible to sign an extension, whenever he so chooses.
Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry has two years remaining on his current deal with the Dubs, and Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic reported the team has every intention of extending the two-time MVP.

Sources within the organization said they don’t see a scenario in which the Warriors decline Curry’s request for an extension, whenever it comes, even though he could demand an astronomical number at the back end of his career.
The maximum Curry could sign for in an extension — which would start in the 2022-23 season — is three years, $155.7 million. If Curry did sign the full extension this offseason, it would put him under contract through 2024-25. He’d be 37 at the end of that contract.
Thompson noted Stephen Curry has until the start of the regular season to sign an extension, which can add up to three years to the current deal.
Curry has a lot of responsibility entering the 2020-21 season. He is coming off a 2019-20 campaign ruined by a broken left hand, and also has to carry the Dubs' backcourt without Klay Thompson in the fold.
But the Warriors have an intriguing future, especially if James Wiseman shows signs of stardom this season. Plus, Curry has long stated his love for the organization, and it seems likely he only wants to wear the Warriors jersey for the remainder of his career.
