Golden State Warriors All-Star Stephen Curry is currently sidelined due to a broken left hand. The Warriors announced that Curry would miss at least three months after surgery, but now there are rumblings that he may not return this season.

Via Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report:

Curry doesn't have to worry about that misery now. His lengthy absence is not borne merely from being cautious with the franchise's best player. A team source says the fracture was worse than originally thought, and it's unlikely that he plays again this season. The silver lining, of course, is that he won't have to endure countless shimmies, dangling mouthguards, 1-2-3 counts and other acts of reveling by opponents.

Curry's injury was certainly a tough blow for the Warriors, who are now 2-6 through the early stages of this season. Golden State is dealing with a number of injuries. Klay Thompson was already out as he recovers from the torn ACL he suffered in the NBA Finals, while Draymond Green, Kevon Looney and D'Angelo Russell have all missed time. Green and Looney are still sidelined.

In his four appearances with the Warriors this season, Curry is averaging 20.3 points on 40.9 percent shooting from the field (24.3 percent from beyond the arc), 6.5 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.3 steals in 28.0 minutes per outing.

Whether or not Curry will actually miss the entire 2019-20 season remains to be seen. Either way, the Warriors will likely take an extremely cautious approach to his return.
