Our favorite parody-driven musician, Weird Al, has taken home an Emmy.

His biopic, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, won the award for outstanding television movie, The Hollywood Reporter reveals. This was at the 2024 Creative Arts Emmys.

Weird Al brings home an Emmy

It's a huge honor, as it's one of the biggest of the night.

“It only took me 40 years, in another 40 years I'll be there,” Yankovich said after being asked about being halfway to an EGOT.

The movie stars Daniel Radcliffe as Al. For the performance, the actor was nominated for a Primetime Emmy for lead actor in a television movie or limited series. Additionally, the film earned nominations for casting, music composition, original music and lyrics, sound mixing, picture editing, and writing.

It's co-written and produced by Al. It tells the story of the musician and his rise in creating songs that parody other major songs of the times. Though a lot of it is fictional, it has a lot that seems to fall in line with how his life has gone.

This is the first Emmy for the artist. However, he's won five Grammys for his music and has had 17 nominations, according to the official Grammy website.

In an Instagram post, Al posted a photo of him sleeping with the Emmy. His caption reads, “Morning already? Man, I had the craziest dream…”

Before today, he posted a photo of him at In-and-Out Burger with the Emmy. He wrote, “Got turned away from the after-party at Arby's.”

Congrats to Weird Al and the whole cast and crew behind Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. You can watch the movie on Roku.
