Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal had a simple strategy when it comes to stopping a white-hot Stephen Curry. The Golden State Warriors sniper dropped 51 points in three quarters, including 11 3-pointers for a memorable early-season night at Oracle Arena, enough to get the superstar's rest for the entire fourth quarter and still come out with a 144-122 win.

“Probably foul the s**t out of him, it's probably what we should've done,” said Beal after the game, “and even when we did that he still made them, so I don't know.”

“We just gotta accept the challenge more, it was everybody — KD got 30, Klay had 20. Their top three guys had 100 points.”

Beal led the way for the Wizards with 23 points, but there was little the team could do to stop a guy shooting from way beyond the 3-point line, using his prowess for comfortable drives to the rim and easy finishes at the heart of the paint.

Curry's scoring assault was well-poised, a combination of nifty inside scoring and deep-range artillery that kept the Wizards on their toes for the entire three quarters. The two-time MVP managed two separate 20-point quarters, both filled with fireworks for the home crowd as he came close to tying his record of 13 3-pointers made in a game before he was eventually rested for the remainder of the game.

Washington dropped to 1-3 and will have its next chance to rebound on the road against the Sacramento Kings on Friday night.
