WWE‘s Natalya, despite having a case for a shot at the SmackDown Women's Championship, will not be facing off against Liv Morgan at SummerSlam. Instead, Morgan will have to once again fight Ronda Rousey, the woman she won the belt from after cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase, at the next major Premium Live Event for the company.

Seeing herself get passed up on for the big match despite having over two decades in the business may not be sitting too well with the Hart family member, and may have led to what happened at a recent house show when Liv gave her the pin.

Yikes. Now that is quite the no-sell.

Now, getting right up after your promotion's new champion hits you with her finishing move, fittingly called the ObLIVion, is not a good look for anyone involved. It obviously makes the champion look weak, and the loser look like they're difficult to work with, breaking the immersion that wrestlers work so hard to maintain, even at a house show.

Fans with good memory and knowledge of US wrestling immediately thought of another recent ‘no-selling' incident: Austin Aries in 2018. Aries infamously no-sold Johnny Impact's finisher – though WWE fans may know him as John Morrison – during the main event of Impact Wrestling's Bound for Glory in 2018. Like Natalya, he treated the finisher like it was nothing and ran off, clearly enraged. Now, that was actually Aries' last night with the company, and while Natalya's actions are extremely similar, it's doubtful that the move was her way of exiting WWE.

In fact, in a now-deleted post, Natalya claimed that she actually said “thank you” to the new SmackDown champion. While that doesn't seem to be supported by the footage, perhaps it means that any tension between the two superstars has been squashed.
