In the world of college athletes being able to profit off of name, image and likeness, a lot more is possible in today's environment. That now includes Olympic superstar Gable Stevenson signing with the WWE.

The announcement was made on Thursday and the deal involves Gable Stevenson returning to the University of Minnesota to wrestle and join the WWE simultaneously.

It will be interesting to see the specifics of this NIL deal between Stevenson and the WWE. While the NIL rules have opened up endless avenues for college athletes to profit now, there are still certain stipulations and guidelines in place.

Stevenson agreeing to a deal with the WWE while also staying at Minnesota to continue his collegiate career is certainly fascinating and it's made something possible that previously could've never came to fruition.

Gable Stevenson burst onto the scene at the Tokyo Olympics this past summer and made viral waves with his insane ending to claim a gold medal. 

It was noted early on following his gold medal win that outlets like the WWE and the UFC would be clamoring to add Stevenson and it's the WWE who came out on top. It's unknown if there were any serious talks between Stevenson and the UFC.

The NIL rules have allowed for college athletes like Gable Stevenson to expand their own brands while making lucrative decisions. Seeing what he does with the WWE will be a must-watch.
