Roman Reigns hasn't publically been in a WWE ring since mid-may, when the “Head of the Table” took on Drew McIntyre for a live event in Iowa. Since that match, Reigns has missed Hell in a Cell, missed every episode of Raw and Smackdown, and now, will reportedly miss WWE's next marquee event, Money in the Bank.

That's right, according to Wrestling Observers' Dave Meltzer, Reigns, who was initially announced for the card when it was taking place at Allegiant Stadium, has since been removed from the card upon its venue change to the more intimate – see: smaller – MGM Grand Garden Arena.

But why? Rumors have circulated that Reigns might be injured, while others have pointed to an unusual speech he gave to a crowd in Trenton, New Jersey, where he disclosed that he was entering a new phase of his career and may not be “back here again” but either way, it's unfortunate fans won't be afforded an opportunity to watch the top star in the Fed, and thus one of the biggest stars in all of wrestling period, perform in the ring.

If this is all tied into the new contract Reigns signed back in May, which afforded him a more streamlined workload, that would be one thing, plenty of wrestlers slow down their workload as they get older, especially if they have ventures outside of the ring but if that was the case, why was he initially booked for Money in the Bank at all? Hopefully, Vince McMahon and company have a plan, as Summer Slam is a little under two months away, and holding the event without a world title match would be unusual indeed.
