Anytime Sheamus and Drew McIntyre get in a WWE ring together, it's going to be a good time… well, at last for the fans in attendance, the duo clearly don't like each other and they clearly don't mind showing it. Though they have wrestled well over 100 times if you count house shows, anytime the duo link up for a match, there's a chance something truly incredible happens.
But what happens when the duo are forced to share the ring together as a make-shift team instead of fighting it out against each other? Can they set aside their differences to work towards a shared goal? Well, thanks to Roman Reigns' special assistant Paul Heyman, that's exactly what happened on this week's edition of SmackDown, as Adam Pearce rescinded his offer for the former champions to earn spots in the Money in the Bank match at the, um, Money in the Bank premium event, with the duo instead having to wrestle for their spot on the show in a tag team match against The Usos.
Could Sheamus and McIntyre work their issues out to best the best tag team in the promotion, or would their incompatibility rear its ugly head and sink their individual chances at earning the briefcase before it even started? Fortunately, it took a little less than two hours for WWE fans to find out.
Sheamus and Mcintyre found temporary success as a team in WWE.
The match started off easy enough, with McIntyre and Sheamus individually taking the ring to face off against their foes, who are quite literally the most lethal duo in the WWE. While they lacked the cohesion of the Usos, the individual efforts of Sheamus and McIntyre were unlike anything Jey and Jimmy are used to in the ring, and as the match wore on, the duo melded more and more with each passing minute.
And yet, the Usos almost got their way in the main event of SmackDown via a little help from their unlikely pal and Honorary Uce, Sami Zayn, who attempted to interfere in the match but was quickly bested by the dynamic duo of The Street Profits, who were watching the match ringside and helping Pat McAfee on commentary. Add Sheamus' other two Brawling Brutes, Butch and Ridge Holland, and the chances of the Usos finishing the match any way but in the ring rapidly disappeared.
Forced to fight for the right for Sheamus and McIntyre not to be in the match – which isn't exactly a compelling reason to wrestle – the makeshift tag team got the leg up on their incredibly well-decorated foes and, well, this happened.

Oof, that is one heck of a claymore, my friends.
With the win counted 1-2-3, Drew McIntyre and Sheamus have officially secured spots in the Money in the Bank match at Money in the Bank, where they will wrestle Seth Rollins, Omos, and yes, Sami Zayn, who also secured a spot in the match on this particular episode of SmackDown, in addition to a few more participants who have yet to qualify just yet. While only time will tell which performer ultimately pulls out the win, or should I say, pulls down the briefcase at WWE's forthcoming premium live event, it's safe to say Sheamus and McIntyre will brawl the heck out during the match, which is bad news for their respective bodies but fantastic news for the fans watching at home who never want to see this years-long feud come to an end.
