It appears that the Zac Brown Band is heading to Las Vegas to play the Sphere. If this is true, they will follow in the footsteps of rock legends U2 and Phish.
During an appearance on Theo Von's This Past Weekend podcast, Brown himself broke the news. He was first asked if he'd seen a show there, to which he revealed he had seen both of the previous acts that played shows there. He also saw Darren Aronofsky's Postcard from Earth film as well.
“Yes. I just saw Phish there, saw U2 on opening night, saw the movie [Postcard from Earth] there, [I've] been going,” he revealed.
Speaking about the venue itself, Brown called the Sphere “the greatest canvas that's ever been created.”
“To get to be one of the first bands that goes in there to do it, this is our masterpiece, man,” Brown said. “This is our chance to really show what we can do as a band.”
Phish's vs. U2's Sphere shows
Later in the interview, Brown also broke down the difference between U2 and Phish's Sphere shows. He had high praise for both of them.
“It was cool,” Brown said of Phish's show. “And what they did conceptually is cool because they played four-hour shows, four of 'em, and they didn't play the same song twice. Or they didn't use the same content twice.
“But it's different. They used it as a big backdrop for what they were doing and for their shows. And their fans loved it,” he added.
As for U2's show, they played a similar show but this opened Brown's eyes to “what was fully possible with the building.”
“I got some glimpses of what was fully possible with the building when U2 was there because they played the same show pretty much every night,” Brown said. “Because you pay to create all this content and make it this thing where they put you into something.”
He already has a team put together for Zac Brown Band's residency at the Sphere. Brown promised that it's “going to be the biggest spectacle we've ever done and I'm very excited because this puts us in another league.” For research, Brown will see every band that comes to play before his band takes over.
Article Continues BelowHe hopes that playing the Sphere cements Zac Brown Band as a legacy act. Brown told Theo Von that his goal is for the band to become like the Rolling Stones and the Grateful Dead.
Fun fact: During Zac Brown Band's 2023 concert in Hershey, Pennsylvania, they played a medley of U2's “With or Without You” and their own “Homegrown.”
When will Zac Brown Band play the Sphere?

In the interview, Brown revealed that the Zac Brown Band will play the Sphere in 2025. It also sounds like that will be the only live shows the band will be playing.
“So, 2025, that's what we're doing for touring,” Brown said.
But first, the Zac Brown Band will finish out their 2024 tour. They have shows booked through November 9, 2024. Some of those shows include stadium gigs with Kenny Chesney, Megan Moroney, and Uncle Kracker.
