It was a chaotic season for the Las Vegas Raiders. After dealing with multiple situations off the field that jeopardized their season, the team still managed to make the NFL Playoffs. The roster seems to be much better than many give credit for and the franchise is excited about Josh McDaniels taking over as the head coach.

We'll see how the Raiders conduct themselves in the offseason, but it's not like they have to make big changes to the roster. Las Vegas has a solid defense and offense, meaning the team is just a few key pieces away from becoming a legitimate threat. However, one position needs to be seriously addressed if the Raiders hope to take the next step.

Based on a few factors, the Raiders desperately need to improve the wide receiver group. Henry Ruggs won't ever return to the NFL, while Bryan Edwards hasn't lived up to expectations. Hunter Renfrow was amazing, but adding a legitimate receiver or two would do wonders for Las Vegas.

Biggest Raiders Need in 2022 NFL Offseason

Replenish Wide Receiver Position

Just like every team in the league, the Raiders will have many options to address their biggest need. This is a crucial offseason, as Las Vegas can make a splash in free agency, a trade, or select an exciting rookie in the 2022 NFL Draft. Whichever the case, the front office will be able to find suitable receivers for the offense.

Free agency is where it can get interesting. We'll see if he ends up hitting the market, but nearly everyone will be chomping at the bit to sign Davante Adams. However, he's not the only exciting player potentially available. Other big names the Raiders might consider are Chris Godwin, Allen Robinson, Juju Smith-Schuster, and Mike Williams.

If the Raiders fail to sign one of these star receivers, the front office could look to make a trade. Rumors are the Atlanta Falcons could be dealing away Calvin Ridley, while the New Orleans Saints might be dishing Michael Thomas. Either one of these receivers would provide a massive boost to the passing game in Las Vegas.

The last option would be the NFL Draft. Even if the Raiders sign an exciting player in free agency or acquire a star via trade, they could still select a rookie to add to the passing attack. Luckily for them, there's another solid batch of wide receivers entering the league. Hopefully, this time around the Raiders select the right guys, as they have had a difficult time drafting lately.

At the end of the day, the Raiders aren't too far away from becoming a legitimate threat. We're bound to see them make a handful of moves, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Even so, if Las Vegas hopes to find success, addressing the wide receiver position is mandatory. Look for the team to get aggressive in the offseason, as the AFC West has become incredibly crowded.
